Sunday 08/14/2005 Cahersiveen, IR Day 3662 (Ireland Trip, Day 6, Part 11)

What Happened Today?

DAY 6: GLENBEIGH TO CAHERSIVEEN (DERRYMORE VALLEY)

HIKING INSTRUCTIONS

KERRY WAYMARKED ROUTE AT ROSBEIGH

As the path descends, you head for a planted forest (coniferous), and just before the trees you cross a stream by a disused wooden footbridge and stiles, then heading for the gap between the trees (wire fence on each side).

Continue on this new forest road, which can be very wet underfoot, in a straight line for 1.5 km, and for a further 1.5km on a boggy track, past the ruin of a cottage, until you reach a tarmac road.

Walk on this road for 150m, then you leave the road (Waymarket) to join the old road ahead, now a boggy path.

Cross the saddle ahead and continue straight for 1km until you rejoin the tarmac road.

Stay on the road for 3km, the long ridge of Knocknadobar high up on our right and then passing woods on the right.
