What Happened Today?

Up at 6:00 AM. Around 7:00 AM, I went to the meeting room area, up the escalator, to Salon K to attend RPP distributor Meeting. RPP’s new name will be Hexion which will include RPP, RSM, Eastman and Borden chemical. No one knows of future opportunities with the addition of the new product lines. Distributors comprise about 15% of RPP’s sales. The meeting was over at 5:00 PM.

Kay, Mark and I took a taxi to the new casino across the street from Treasure Island called The Wynn. Same owner of the Bellagio. Beautiful place. I hit a 5 cent Pharoh’s Fortune slot machine for $130.

Then we walked back to Treasure Island where we met all the other RPP people. All of us were wearing red-flowered shits. We met at Kahunaville for a group picture before going to see Mystere… a cique du Soleil type show which was amazing.

Mark decided to walk around on the strip while Kay and I took a taxi back to the Orleans. We watched half of ER before falling asleep around 10:30 PM.

Kay gambled all day at the Orleans while I attended the meeting.

Monday 05/02/2005 San Diego, CA Day 3558

What Happened Today?

Checked out of Pacific Terrace around 7:30 AM.

Filled the rental car with gas and drove to the San Diego airport. Returned car to Avis.

Southwest flight left at 10:00 AM for Las Vegas. Arrived at 11:30 AM. We collected our luggage and waited in a long taxi line. We took a taxi to The Orleans which was about 3 miles from the Tropicana. We checked into our room and then went downstairs to gamble.

Hit the ATM for $500. Kay took $240 and I took $260. We played several slot machines.

I hit a 7 times 2 nickel machine for 700 nickels.

Dinner at Al’s Oyster Bar. Kay ordered Manhattan clam chowder. I ordered Boston clam chowder. We split an order of steamed clams.

Finally ran out of steam around midnight.

What Happened Today?

My birthday.

Tried to find Black Mountain to hike the trail… no luck.

Drove to Torrey Pines. The beach access trail was washed out.

We went to Hennessey’s for lunch and Bass Ale.

Drove to Mom’s house. We all went to the ballpark to watch Keith and Lee Ann play softball. Fun time.

We left around 4 PM to go to Keith and Lee Ann’s house but instead went to the Interpreter with Sean Penn and Nicole Kidman. Good movie.

Back to the Hungry Stix for chicken quesadillas and barbecue wings.

Took mom home and said our good-byes.

Drove to the hotel and in bed around midnight.
